Biography
Angie Eng is a professional intermedia artist and a dedicated art educator for over 20 years. With a strong dedication to equity, social justice, and human rights, she has implemented art as a catalyst to social progress in Ethiopia, France, and the United States. She designs integral teaching methodologies by combining theory, practice, wellness, and professional development in all subjects with diverse populations. Her humanistic approach encourages students to contemplate how their creative production serves an understanding of politics and ethics. In line with a contemplative art method, she encourages students to reflect and articulate how their work and artistic process demonstrate ethical practices and inclusive design. A true transdisciplinary artist, her practice spans genres from conceptual art, socially engaged art, AV performance, new media genres, remix, and sound art. She is known for her pioneering contribution to live video performance (visual music). Her work has been presented worldwide and she has received over 50+ commissions, grants, and art residencies. She has a Ph.D. in intermedia arts, writing, and performance with a focus on immersive phenomenological spaces with healing and spiritual effects.
