Biography
Trish Adobea Tchume is a first generation Ghanaian-American, a social and racial justice advocate, facilitator and trainer. In her role as Network Organizer, Trish directly supports the Sterling Network Fellows to ensure they collectively have the support necessary to imagine and build toward a more just and vibrant New York City. She brings to her role a deep reverence for the transformative power of networks and a breadth of experience growing and organizing them from former roles as the executive director of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, the network organizer for Within Our Lifetime: A Network to End Racism, the director of civic engagement for the Building Movement Project, and her most recent role as the director of leadership development at the Center for Community Change. Trish is Brooklynite, a proud auntie, a beach devotee and is fortunate enough to devote her volunteer time to the board of Change Elemental, the Central Brooklyn Food Coop, and is a trainee with Ancient Song Doula Services.
I Participate Because
I participate in these sorts of activities because self-determination and community care are practices we can engage in all the time, not just goals for some future world we're building toward. I like that this tool lowers the amount of complexity and energy required of people like me to love on our neighbors.
