- For the past several years, I have been involved with my block club on several projects that we hope will improve the quality of life for the people living in our neighborhood. In addition to traditional block club issues like crime, we also like to find positive things to focus on like neighborhood clean-ups and advocating for a historic bridge that serves as the gateway to our neighborhood.

- It gives me a level of satisfaction that I don't experience with other activities. As a mother, it is very important to me that my children see and experience that putting effort into your community can make a difference.
