In its 25 year history, Breaking Ground has aided over 12,000 people to overcome and avoid homelessness, and invested $464 million on thoughtfully designed supportive housing and community spaces. With 19 buildings and over 3,200 housing units, Breaking Ground is a pioneer in the development of supportive housing. The mission of Breaking Ground’s Young Professionals Committee is to engage young, dedicated New Yorkers to support Breaking Ground’s goal to address homelessness by 1) raising awareness of city’s most vulnerable citizens, 2) fundraising to support street outreach, and supportive housing programs, and 3) building a network of like-minded individuals who are passionate about creating a more livable city.
