Biography
Bee Brave, created by Amalia Haas, wants to help youth understand and cope with anxiety by engaging them in what for most is an anxiety-provoking activity – beekeeping. Amalia Haas, Cleveland Clinic chaplain, rabbi and beekeeper - has developed a program that combine basic beekeeping with mindfulness training. It will focus initially on youth, but eventually support others facing anxiety to learn distress tolerance, develop resiliency and move forward and succeed even when they struggle with anxiety. In collaboration organization and practitioners providing mental health support, Bee Brave aims to serve those who are post-incarceration, trauma survivors and people struggling with treatment-resistant depression, addiction and OCD. Bee Brave will be hosted at Vel's Purple Oasis, a woman-owned educational farm adjacent to the Cleveland Clinic's main campus.
