About Us
With generous support from Councilmember Steve Levin and Greenthumb, 61 Franklin Street Garden is resident-led community project converting a vacant lot in Northern Greenpoint into a vibrant and green open space for the use of the neighborhood.
We Participate Because
We hope to create a welcoming community space with native plants, a community herb bed, as well as edible crops. As a key element of our mission is to educate our community on the importance of greening and the methods that can be implemented, we are working with local schools and non-profit organizations to maximize our impact on the neighborhood. Community collaboration is a top priority and we encourage local businesses and organization to help us maximize the potential of the space for all to use.
