With your help, we plan to create an engaged political environment among millennials and Gen-Z on the Northside. According to Axios, "Millennials and Gen Z will make up 37% of the 2020 electorate." We want to ensure that our voice is being heard from federal, state, and local elections. We also want to ensure that millennials and Gen Z have all the information avaiable to them in order to make informed decisions in order to benefit the community that they live in.
These funds will provide informational materials on the importance and impact of voting and how to vote; registration fees to help us set up tables/information booths at a local community events; and rental fees for spaces to host educational workshops.
As a local organization, we are sustained only by the passion of our members, the generosity of our donors, and a shared commitment to making the political process more accessible for young people.
February 2020:
Begin holding information sessions about the upcoming elections.
March/April 2020:
Distribute informational materials to help young people get engaged in the political process.
Summer/Fall 2020:
Sign up community volunteers & Host tables/booths at local community events.
October/November 2020:
Get Out the Vote Efforts in the Northside/Distribute Information materials to help young people get engaged in the political process.
Voter turnout, among millennials and Gen Z especially, is abysmally low throughout the Northside. By and large, millennial and Gen Z constituencies are underrepresented in our political system. We aim to reverse the trend of chronically low millennial and Gen Z engagement in the political process, and give young people a louder voice in our community.
