Based in Cincinnati's West End neighborhood, the West End Reds is a non-profit organization that engages urban youth in grade-level, recreational baseball and softball programs. Through exposure to athletic development and team competition, we seek to aid youth in strengthening their academics, self esteem, social skills, and character.
Luckily, this year has provided opportunities to reconnect with former participants and recruit new youth, and the West End Reds have seen an incredible amount of demand for our programming. In total, nearly 150 youth, ranging in age from 4 to 18 years old, are currently registered across our softball and baseball programs, and we have seen some big "wins" from players this season both on and off the fields.
We need your help to celebrate the success of these youth!
With this increased demand, the West End Reds must supplement our existing fundraising strategies in order to cover equipment and fees for the remainder of our season, enter teams in tournament play, and host our year-end recognition banquet to celebrate the perserverance of all of our youth participants.

As the last remaining youth baseball and softball teams located in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine and West End neighborhoods, the West End Reds represent a critical opportunity for youth from these urban communitities to participate in recreational sports activities.
These programs aren't just about athletics, though, they are one of the few positive spaces available to strengthen the academic success, self esteem, social skills, and character of our youth.
In 2015, neighbors, local businesses, and other organizations came together to rally support for our youth and ensure that all of our teams had the equipment, uniforms, and other supplies to have a successful season. With that successful fundraising, the West End Reds have been able to grow the number of youth engaged in our programs each year.

Last year, the West End Reds faced a new challenge, one faced by many youth athletics programs, as our spring and summer programs were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the partnership of the Reds Community Fund and the St. William Athletic Association, our teams came together to provide opportunities for our youth to still play a fall season together.
