We "Woolly " Need A Garden
We would like to turn our concrete school into a greener and more beautiful learning community for all to experience. A woolly garden will allow us to do just that by using our fences to plant.

About the project
On Saturday April 27, 2013, which we have declared, Pioneer Cares Day, we would like to re-establish a more functional garden for our school community. On this day we will invite student, parent, and staff to plant flowers and seeds in woolly pockets, raised garden bed and next to our trees. We will also be cleaning up litter in the school community. We hope that we will be able to make our school a more beautiful place to learn despite our lack of garden space. With the help of Woolly School Garden Kit we can still plant successfully using our fences. The plants will be maintained by the science teachers and their students and used in several learning units throughout the school year.
The Steps
To achieve success we will monitor the growth of our plants and trees starting April 2013 by measuring them and taking pictures frequently. We hope that by the Fall of 2013 we will be apple to harvest our crops grown and use them in our classrooms to make real world connections. We hope our long term success will be to see our families in the school community also gardening and eating healthier.
Why we‘re doing it
We are doing this because our school is on a mission to become an eco school. Our students love learning about plants and the animals they depend on but are faced with limited space to observe such a beautiful relationship in nature. We hope that this garden will inspire families to garden at home and make healthier food choices.
