About the project
With your help, we plan to hold frequent meetings to learn about Automatic Voter Registration and ways young people can involve themselves in the political process. We're also hosting two trips to Albany to rally in front of the state capital, and plan to continue to expand the reach and depth of our growing organization over the next months. As a local, student-run organization, we are sustained only by the passion of our members, the generosity of our donors, and a shared commitment to making the political process more accessible for young people.

Why we‘re doing it
We aim to reverse the trend of chronically low youth engagement in the political process, and give young people a louder voice. Currently, the needs of young people in New York City and New York State are not addressed simply because there are few organizations fighting for youth representation. Voter turnout, among young people especially, is abysmally low throughout the nation. By and large, youth constituencies are underrepresented in our political system. YPPG aims to combat this trend, especially among disadvantaged minorities, impoverished youth, and other groups who historically have lacked a voice in our elections and civic conscience.
