the project

These are going to be a tough few weeks for people in the service industry. A sudden change to income with little time to plan.

This project is to allow people to donate what they would have tipped over the next few weeks into a shared pot which will be distributed through the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood by DSCDO.

The short end date is to allow money to be paid out to them at the start of April in time for monthly bills or to provide funds for food/medicine.

the steps

Money will be paid to DSCDO who will distribute within the community to impacted service workers on an as needed basis.

why we're doing it

The service workers of our community make it what it is and we want to continue to appreciate them through this tough time.

budget

Disbursed budget:

TOTAL RAISED = $426.00 $426.00
ioby Platform Fee waived waived
ioby Fiscal Sponsorship Fee (5%) waived $21.30
ioby Donation Processing Fee (3%) $12.78 $12.78
TOTAL TO DISBURSE= $413.22 $391.92

Original Budget:

With people rightly staying home during this pandemic restaurants are closing or shifting to takeout only models. This has a huge impact on service industry workers who will go without tip income, which can range from between $30 and $100 per day of work. Most Ohio service industry workers earn between $4 and $12 an hour so tips are the difference between them making rent, covering bills, and being able to stay safe and well.

Tipping Levels - Tip Like you would have for ...

$5 - a week of morning coffees

$10 - a night of drinks

$20 - brunch or meal for two

$50 - friends night out

PROJECT FUNDING NEEDED =    $3,000
ioby Platform Fee     $35
ioby Donation Processing Fee (3%)    $94
TOTAL TO RAISE =    $3,129
