Kangaroo Birthing & Maternity Concierge is a birth doula agency that serves primarily African American women and various women of color within the Pittsburgh area.  We will extend this support by using these donations and matching funds to launch a teaching app that would be used to continue our “Unshakeable Motherhood” project. 

We will reach out to selected birth workers that we have empowered in the past with birth doula training funds, and these birth workers will contribute maternity, birth, postpartum and beyond lessons to be available online through our app. This app will be a hub of video lessons and tutorials that support, educate and exhort women in their motherhood journey.

Unshakeable Motherhood teaching videos will be free informational downloadables and a blog series spotlighting mothers, physicians and therapists wisdom on the woman’s ability to overcome major life obstacles. We will shed light on the obstacles that had to be overcome in navigating the economic distress, postpartum depression, relationships/divorce, child support system and relationship abuse.  

This online app for our Unshakeable Motherhood programming is critical right now during COVID19 when we are not able to gather in person.

We are continuing the "Unshakeable Motherhood" project in 2020 by using these funds to help build a teaching app that would reach women who are in transition and struggling with motherhood issues. 

why we're doing it

The pop up “Unshakeable Motherhood” Project is an exclusive group for new mothers, veteran mothers and soon to be mothers with similar desires and interest. The project will provide members with the opportunity to consistently be refreshed, build relationships with a community of moms to be restored by education and proper guidance. The mission is to establish a community of diverse women who support, exhort and encourage one another along the journey of motherhood.
