the project

Trash to Thrash aims to inspire young people to pick up a skateboard and explore the world creatively. We hold free community events in underserved and low-income neighborhoods where kids learn the fundamentals of skateboarding and leave with their very own skateboard!

the steps

Your contribution will help to provide skateboards for North Side kids who participate in the Trash to Thrash program at Riverview Park Day in September 2019.

why we're doing it

Trash to Thrash aims to inspire young people to pick up a skateboard and explore the world creatively. We keep their bodies and brains active by taking trashed skateboards, teaching them how to fix them up and skate their way to being Thrashers. We empower Thrashers to become community leaders and mentors to a new crop of skaters, thus continuing the cycle: create, skate, cultivate.

budget

Disbursed Budget 1.17.19:

Our goal is to hold a Trash to Thrash event at Riverview Park where we provide skateboards for 15 kids. By partnering with Switch & Signal Skatepark, we're able to purchase skateboards at a significant discount. Each skateboard is $60, so the $500 we raised will purchase about eight skateboards. We will continue fundraising to raise enough to purchase seven more.

RAISED = $515.00
less ioby Platform Fee  waived
less ioby Donation Processing Fee (3%) $15.00
TOTAL TO DISBURSE = $500.00
