Unity in Our Community TimeBank is a community of neighbors in Southwest Detroit that share skills, talents, and passion with each other. We especially love to share with each other the joy of spending time outside. This coming year we plan to have events for people to learn and play tennis, paddle kayaks, visit a Cider Mill, ride bikes together, and more! We want to be sure that all of these activities are free for people to attend and that everyone can get their regardless of transportation needs.
The funds raised will be used for things like renting Mogo bikes, providing gas vouchers for those who help with transportation, renting kayaks, paying for us to pick apples at the orchard, and more.
June- Raise funds, first group bike ride of the year, plan tennis event
July- First kayak event of the year, finalize tennis event, second group bike ride
August- Tennis event, second kayak event of the year, third group bike ride
September- Fourth group bike ride
October- Cider mill trip, last group bike ride
Staying active and spending time outside is great for physical and mental health. Doing it together is even better! The TimeBank rewards people for sharing their passions and interests with "hours" that can be spent on other activities and needs. We're building a community of mutual aid and care while spending time together and trying new things.
