the project

Tennis Recycles was founded in 2018, working toward sustainable solutions in tennis. We are currently working to install recycling bins at public and private courts around NYC, so that tennis balls can be recycled instead of going to the landfill.

the steps

We are currently raising funds to:

1. Obtain insurance in order to be approved to expand a recycling bin program to NYC public courts.

2. Purchase outdoor recycling bins for NYC public courts.

3. Maintain website and domain name, email account and marketing materials.

4. Organize efforts to initiate a recycling program at the 2019 US Open as well as an information booth for event attendees to learn more. This will involve the cost of the booth, a potential hired supervisor to oversee volunteers during the two-week tournament, and brochures, tee shirts and other promotional materials.

why we're doing it

The mission of Tennis Recycles is to bring together the tennis community to implement sustainable alternatives that reduce waste and assist in preserving resources and our planet.
