Summer Meadows Little Free Library

We will install and fill a little free library with quality books for readers of all ages on Fleda Road in the Summer Meadows nieghborhood, near the Shelby Farms Greenline.

We will purchase and paint a small library, install the library, and fill it with great books.

Little free libraries have proven to be a fun, serendiptious way to connect people to great books in other parts of our city. Let's bring little free libraries all over Memphis.

Not only would a little free library in this high foot and bike traffic area be a great addition to the neighborhood, connecting people to great books in surprising ways, it would also bring the idea of openness and book sharing to East Memphis neighborhoods where there is not already a presence of little free libraries.

The goal of this little free library is to circulate a wide variety of books to readers of all ages, who either happen by on a walk or bike ride, and to be a place in the neighborhood where people know they can go check out a great book. This is especially important because there is not a community library within walking distance of the neighborhood.
