Parker Village will host the summer concert series which will bring together the community (citizens) and the creative community in and around the city including music, fashion and art and will support independent artist throughout the process. We envision live painting, vendor tables, tutorials sessions, great food and great music from a diverse roster of artists.
Once we have cash in hand, we will begin entering contracts and placing deposits with the musicians that will perform for the series; we will also begin infrastructure improvements such as building out the stage platform, ordering banners, painting, etc.
Reserving equipment (PA system, power, etc) and planning out the marketing materials. Hiring a graphic artist to create our imagery, working with media for ads and preparing a flyer/mailer/poster campaign.
Highland Park is rich in artistic and historical culture; it is imperative that we continue to expose the talents in and around the city and surrounding area and to champion this narrative to enrich our community. Giving as many opportunities as possible for the community members to network, to gather, to expand their movements.
Highland Park only has one annual music fest. Being an artist myself and with a more diverse population moving in, we wanted to create a summer concert series to introduce our green space and gathering capability to the community and add to the cultural experiences and the sharing of Highland Park's rich history with old and new alike. It has been discussed among many local organizations and groups here that having a diverse offering to the community would be beneficial and welcome.
