the project

In 2011, I was employed with a great company, however, I knew that I would eventually become an entrepreneur, and after researching and conducting surveys among peers, it was clear that there was a great number of people who felt the same way. I began this journey to provide startup businesses support, resources, and education to individuals who dream of owning and operating their own businesses.

Statistics show that small businesses fail within the first three years of operations due to a lack of support, resources, and planning. It is my goal to support as many people as I can in starting and maintaining viable businesses. In 2016, I decided to focus my efforts on becoming the spark to ignite the passion for start-up businesses. 

To this point, I have conducted business start-up sessions, provided guidance and support, donated essential items, and provided general assistance in developing start-ups. These services are provided at no cost to participants. I am looking forward to growing my organization and eventually adding more services.

the steps

I will create a calendar with dates and topics that will be discussed at each business session. Participants will be required to read and sign an agreement outlining the expectations. I will be creating a web page, purchasing office equipment, office supplies, conducting in-person and virtual conferences, and providing packets of information, November 30, 2020 is the projected date to have accomplished the stated goals except for the in-person conference, which can possibly be delayed due to the pandemic.

why we're doing it

My project will add to social-economic growth through creating entrepreneurs, Assisting start-up businesses will create opportunities for accountability among participants. There are components I also intend to implement which will focus on community development and growth. For example, creating ways to give back to the community within the capacity that the participants have those skills.
