the project
The project will address the removal of pigeon droppings from the entire park. Tree planting has been requested to fill in empty tree pits in the park.
the steps
Our group will powerwash the park, paint and plant. We will also pass out flyers warning people not to feed the pigeons.
why we're doing it
Removal of pigeon droppings has become a health problem to those using the park. Ongoing studies of preventing pigeon droppings will hopefully put an end to this toxic problem. Planting of trees will enhance the park's look, create a canopy, and help alleviate air pollution from traffic along Queens Blvd.
budget
Paint - Home Depot $40
Refreshments - StopNShop $20
Plants - Florist Hills Nursery $40
