About the project
In 2021 We distributed food throughout the community, hosted a farmer's market and donated produce to food banks. We are going to continue that for 2022, which means starting planting and farm activities as soon as weather allows. By raising these initial funds we can organize volunteers, purchase supplies for the farm, do minor repairs and reach out to the community.
The Steps
On March 1st with money in hand, we will order the supplies needed to insure delivery by the first of spring and begin organizing the volunteers. On March 20th, we will begin planting, tilling the soil and completing the minor repairs to begin our grow season.
Why we‘re doing it
Highland Park has long desired a farmer's market and in 2021 we achieved that vision by creating a weekend market. Distributing Fresh produce without chemicals in our community has been a dream and a huge upgrade to the quality food in our city. We have also Provided Food to the pantries and have been a major assistance throughout the Pandemic and beyond. This continues to be our mission; to help those in our city achieve a better quality of life and better food choices.
