About the project
The Friends of South LORAIN, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, was created three years ago with the intent to spark life into the South Lorain Community. The primary goal of the group is to engage the community by creating special events free to the public. The annual Toy Giveaway allows children from diverse backgrounds to enjoy a gift this Holiday Season.
The Steps
Once the funds have been raised and received, our team will partner with Meijer’s in Lorain to purchase the desired toys. Several community volunteers have agreed to participate in transporting the gifts back to our event location.
Why we‘re doing it
We do this to bring a smile to the people of South Lorain - children and adults alike - to remind them that in this turbulent world we live in, we can shine a light on others with dignity, kindness, respect, and grace. Our children are our future. We hope that our work inspires them to do the same!
