SEAREI is collaborating with the non-profit community workshop The Port City Makerspace in Portsmouth, NH to install a solar heating system for their workshop building.
SEAREI is a 501c3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Act NOW so that your donations can be matched!!
We have a large number of used solar heating panels that are recycled from a previous commercial installation, which need to be refurbished and adapted for use in this and future installations. We will work with volunteers from the Makerspace community to construct a frame for SIX panels, which will provide a large percentage of their heating needs.
We will also train volunteers in the refurbishment and installation of these panels for future installations throughout the Seacoast Community. We need funds to pay for construction materials, permits, project coordination and training of volunteers to carry out the work.
- Raise funds to purchase materials
- Complete engineering design for installation
- Buy materials for the steel frame for wall mounting the panels to be built by members of the Makerspace!
- Train volunteers in panel refurbishment, installation
- Install panels and attach ducting to bring the Solar Heated air in to the building
We aim to help community members to utilize renewable energy and efficiency improvements to reduce their carbon footprints and limit fossil fuel use. This project will serve as a showpiece of one way to do that, as well as provide training on the concepts, design and installation of solar heating systems.
Our goal is to grow this program and install all of the other panels in the Seacoast .
This installation at the Makerspace is the next key step in the process toward our bigger project!
