the project

Shop Class is supporting local artists by running galley and expo events through January. Our goal is to connect local artists with buyers of artwork in an effort to support their work and to encourage more work by these local artists. We have an indoor facility and an outdoor pop-up market area.

the steps

  1. Schedule specific dates of events
    1. First event is an indoor gallery
    2. Second event is an outdoor popup market
  2. Book catering and rentals for tables and chairs
  3. Meet with volunteers to coordinate on tasks that need doing
  4. Print marketing material and distribute
  5. Call people within our network

why we're doing it

Shop Class helps people become comfortable with using tools and equipment that creatives use, and we want to support the output of these local community members. Our goal is eventually to be able to support a fully-fledged an Artist in Residence program.
