About the project

Send the 2014 JUMP OFF Champions and the JUMP CLUB Coach to SUMMER CAMP!

JUMP CLUB is an athletic club and mentoring program established as one of many clubs within the Peer Power Foundation at East High School.  JUMP CLUB wants to extend its reach into the Memphis community this summer to impact the lives of Memphis youth.  You can help us make a difference by sending us to summer camp with the jump rope experts at the USA Jump Rope Organization.  Camp is July 12th-16th at Western Kentucky University.

The Steps

After returning from USA Jump Rope Camp, JUMP CLUB will participate in community events, summer camps, and youth programs around Memphis before school starts back and another year of JUMP CLUB at East High School begins.  JUMP CLUB would like to grow its presence in Shelby County Schools in the coming school year and continue to grow in the Memphis community.

Why we‘re doing it

“Because I love Memphis!” –Coach Laurel

JUMP CLUB was founded by Franklin, TN native Laurel Markovich to combat some of the issues facing not only Memphis youth, but also youth around the world in today’s society.   It is imperative to teach, mentor, support, and push youth to achieve their dreams now more than ever.  Today’s youth face mental and physical health issues, drug and alcohol abuse, violence, identity and self-image issues, lack of discipline, materialism and the list goes on.  With such a great need for change around the world, Laurel is on a mission to restore the health and wellbeing of youth, starting in Memphis, Tennessee.
