About the project
Our Self Care Series will be a series of self care focused events for Detroiters. This series will promote self care, mental health awareness, as well as reduce stress and stigma through yoga & paint/meditate community events.
The Steps
We have already identified our yoga instructors and an art therapist for this series, as well as established a partnership to host the events. The Self Care Series will take place during 2023. The funds will be used to secure art supplies, yoga mats, refreshments, and the space.
Why we‘re doing it
Prior to the Self Care Series, we launched a community survey to gauge the needs and wants of Detroit residents. From this survey, yoga and paint/meditate were the top choices from the participants. Our Self Care Series will bring the power of self care to the Detroit community. This series aims to teach the community about the importance of self care and provide a space for residents to engage in various forms of self care.
