Schmidt Field Arborfresh!

East End is lucky to have so many parks.  The open space, views of the river and trees are some of my favorite parts of our neighborhood.  The Schmidt Field playground and event/picnic area has some of the best trees in the East End.  Some of those trees are close to 100 years old!  Unfortunately as these trees age, they will need to be replaced. I want to raise $4,000 towards the removal of dead or diseased trees, maintenance of the existing trees and planting of eight new trees in this area.  I’ll match the first $500 raised and we have the opportunity for Ioby will match up to $2,000. The match is first come first served, so don't delay!  Let’s do this!

• Plant trees - September 24

As the East End redevelops many of our trees have been removed or have died.  Outdoor places with shade are more critical than ever with the ongoing COVID pandemic and climate change threat.
