About the project
Our Project is based on: uniting residents together to help maintain the quality of life in our neighborhood by showing them how important it is to maintain the trees and community garden.
The Steps
We will commence cleaning, trying to raise money for materials, researching biodegradable bags for canine waste, looking towards taking classes on tree maintenance. Working with other organizations that are maintaining trees. Take on volunteers, especially the youth.
Why we‘re doing it
I spent many days in my youth in Virginia, and I was able to lay on grass without worrying about canine waste. Growing up in the City of New York I noticed that dogs used to go on the curb and the street sweepers used to clean it up. Those days are over. People are not taking on the responsibility of cleaning up after their dogs and the trees are now the wasteland for lazy dog walkers. I love beautiful flowers and the trees in NY are suffering. My block where I live, the trees can live if we just take care of them. So me and Helen Clark decided to get together to maintain the trees.
