the project

Right now, the Sacramento homeless community is in crisis -- from sweeps, a lack of resources, and an unjust system. A recent report found that there are now more homeless people in Sacramento than in San Francisco.

Bright Coast Productions & Jolie Media are teaming up to produce a documentary about this crisis. The two of us Nick Anderson & Ian Lee are a team consisting of a local filmmaker & a progressive union organizer who understand Sacramento's history and have a vested interest in seeing the situation improve.

the steps

We must educate & activate the larger Sacramento community around this crisis. 

We plan to speak to and interview a wide range of people including politicians, academics, nonprofits, and of course those who are experiencing homelessness firsthand. We plan on hiring a film crew to professionally produce & edit our film.

At the end of this project, we plan to host public viewings of our documentary.

why we're doing it

Democracy is not a spectator sport. Our institutions only act when there is public consensus and public pressure to act.

We wish to activate the larger Sacramento community around this crisis.
