About the project
As a supporter of RedZone Ministries and an advocate for using street art to beautify cities, LA based artist Erin Miller Williams has planned to create an interactive mural on the exterior wall of the RedZone Ministries Building in Orange Mound. The mural will showcase the RedZone Ministries logo and serve as an inspiration wall where students can write the goals and dreams they have for their future and for our city. By allowing students of RedZone to be involved with the creative process, we believe this mural will create a sense of pride and beauty for our community of students and promote a positive outlook on art.
The Steps
After the final drawing is approved by RedZone staff members we will purchase all supplies and equipment necessary to execute the mural. The installation will take 3-5 days to complete. The artist is available is April 13-23 and she will coordinate a time to have students work on the mural once the base design is painted.
Why we‘re doing it
We want to create an area in Orange Mound where kids feel safe, inspired, and proud. The wall is a great opportunity to represent a reminder to students and people driving by that all lives and all dreams matter. Also, it will promote art as a way to communicate and encourage students to dream, risk, and create.
