About the project
All About Cleveland (AAC) is thrilled to announce the kick off of our first annual “Fairfax Rock In the Park” series being held on Saturdays July 22 and August 19, 2017 from 1:00pm -6:00pm at Quincy Gardens and Quincy Park. Rock in the Park are free, fun filled, community events convened at community green spaces offering a day of exposure to the culture and amenities in Fairfax and surrounding communities. Through play and fun, we are supporting the improvement of the overall health and well-being of the Fairfax neighborhood while also encouraging community building and socialization, increased health and physical activity, and creative learning for families and residents.
The first rock event, themed Arts, Culture and History will take place on Saturday July 22nd at Quincy Gardens (East 90th & Quincy Avenue). This event raises awareness of one of Cleveland's gems, the historic Karamu House, the first multicultural theater in the country, highlighting talented local artists in Cleveland, Ohio while welcoming visitors into the Fairfax neighborhood. Residents will have the opportunity to share their talents through the arts, and music, enjoy face painting, karaoke, and connecting with neighborhood resources and businesses.
On August 22nd we will highlight Health, Safety and Education at Quincy Park (Quincy Avenue between E. 82nd & E. 83rd Streets). Participants will receive and engage in health/wellness, and safety education, activities, and demonstrations and connect with workforce readiness programs and potential employers. Institutional partners will play an active role in the day’s events creating opportunities for increased positive engagement and relationship building amongst and between residents and institutions while engaged in a fun filled day.
