In 2015 Project Backbaord completed the Nina Chanel Abney court in Chickasaw Heritage Park. In the past four years the court artwork has faded significantly, Nina Chanel Abney's career has skyrocketed, and Project Backbaord has gained a wealth of experience and recogniton. It is time to restore the court artwork using more durable methods and to finally install the full backbaord graphic originally intended for the park. Once completed, the new Nina Chanel Abney basketball court will draw art and basketball fans to the South Bluff and it will become a widely visited tourist destination worthy of Nina's stature.

Prior to the original painting of Nina Chanel Abney's work on this court, the basketball courts at Chickasaw Heritage Park had no game lines. Since adding the original artwork, free throw and three point line, the court has become increasingly busy as a place for the French Fort community to play basketball and gather as a community. The increased use of the courts has led to fading artwork, and it is time to restore it in a more durable manner that can be enjoyed by the community for many yars into the future.
