the project
What is needed in our community is economics; in order to improve the living conditions in everyday life teaching sewing and cooking is a life skills approach to empower women and young girls in order to promote positive values, healthy habits, and education through real life empowerment.
William Hicks Center, our sponsor in Wilmington, Delaware, who provides the space for Renewal of Self to provide existing and future programs that will help people in the community to grow and become the best version of themselves. I believe that if we don't give our young women/ girls something positive to focus on; the streets will.
Your support/donation will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our women/girls. By helping us to reach our goal your donation will be matched. Your contribution will give us the jumpstart we need while we continue to implement our developed fun-raising plan.
the steps
step#1 - buy more supplies for sewing ( by restocking materials needed)
step#2 - buy supplies for cooking class (mixing bowls for each individual, etc.) what ever the instructor requires
step#3 - taking young ladies and girls on educational trips to help motivate them.
why we're doing it
To keep our young girls off the streets which can stop them from reaching their potential if there's no positive opportunities that will recover and heal their mental and physical state of mind. Renewal is a program that will develop confidence and strength for those who remain unaware of or undervalue their true abilities.
