the project
The Tree of Life Organic Garden is a small community garden that is trying to restore itself after a rough period during the pandemic. Although we have 16 registered gardeners most are elderly or working class so this garden provides a vital lifeline to their household. Unfortunately the property has difficulty assessing reliable water and has no electricity available so much of the maintenance needed is unnecessarily difficult. I hope with help we can give this community the resources they need to succeed in making the garden a lasting community resource.
the steps
We plan to schedule a single weekend of action after ordering all the components. Saturday, we would prep the storage container by marking and measuring the roof for the installation. On Sunday, we would rent the heavy equipment for the day to maximize our time and test the components.
why we're doing it
This garden is an important community resource in an often ignored community so seeing it thrive reminds everyone that we are not ignored. We have something amazing here we should be proud of.
