About the project
We believe that coming together to celebrate is a great way to bring the community together. We really want to take this opportunity to bring joy and meaningful celebrations to our neighbors and anyone who would like to join us. As a day that celebrates freedom in America, it has been very appropriately been recognized as a national holiday. Highlighting Pittsfords own abolitionist history and displaying Juneteenth-related artwork, will connect our community to this holiday.
We believe that Juneteenth is for everyone and we can't wait to celebrate with you.
The Steps
- Mid-May - Pay for catering and purchase any equipment and decorations needed
- Mid June - Purchase anything we forgot or may need to make the day happen.
- June 19 - Pay Entertainers and Interpreters.
Why we‘re doing it
We're doing this because it is important. For too long our nation has been divided. I know that our country as well as my town is full of kind and loving people. We need to give them an opportunity to come out, meet each other, and shine.
