Pinch Pocket Park

The Pinch Neighborhood is stepping out.  Help us create a community space for neighbors to gather, have a picnic, or take a break on neighborhood stroll with their furry friends.

About the project

Pinch residents and business owners have expressed a need for a place to both take their dogs as well as to sit outside and enjoy the neighborhood on a nice day. We plan to spruce up a vacant lot, located between two occupied businesses (Westy’s and Red Fish Gallery) and install a water station, pet waste removal station as well as furniture from reclaimed materials and appealing landscaping.
It is our hope that MEMFix volunteers will help build the furniture and install the stations in time for the April 11th MEMFix, Pinch event. Neighborhood residents, proprietors and property owners (those directly benefiting from the park) will be asked to help fund it.

The Steps

Once money is raised, stations and supplies will be purchased.  A plumber will be hired to supervise the water station element.  Based on money raised, the types and amount of outdoor furniture and landscaping will be mapped out and a timeline for construction and installation will be incorporated into the overall MEMFix prep timeline.

Why we‘re doing it

This park is addressing a need, as identified but those who live and work on the block.  It will be a leave-behind element of the upcoming MEMFix, Pinch event (4/11) that the neighborhood can enjoy for years to come.
