Pillow Therapy Workshops

Life hits hard and some people have no one to talk, which is why these workshops allow that opporunity to not only build a pillow but to establish a community that uplifts and encourages someone to keep fighting.

About the project

Losing my mother in March, I didn't realize the role my business would play in that season for me. I had to fulfill a custom pillow order the day after her passing and it hit me how therapeutic making, building, and stuffing a pillow was. I searched my heart for ways to give this opportunity to others. I know I am not the only person who has suffered a great deal of pain or loss in their life and I learned that pillows and therapy have been essential to my own healing.

So I combined the two and have had two workshops already and I have seen the difference and the need. Which landed me here because I believe that there are others who deserve the opportunity that they may not be able to afford. I am asking for you to help make this possible for 30 women in the community who need the chance to destress and relax. To build and to cry. To laugh and enjoy the company of community and everything the night has to offer.

Why we‘re doing it

Growing up in Lorain County for some people is enough to cause mental breakdowns. Not that we don't love it here but it has been so negative for so many of us. Not only do we have to try and succeed every day but we have our own individual problems. People don't have healthy outlets to release their issues, problems, or pains. These workshops create a safe place to wind down and talk about your hurts or stress. The community needs more outlets to talk about things they are afraid of, concerned with, worried about, traumatized by, or even just simply dealing with.

This project is more than needed. It builds community for those involved because no one leaves without making a new friend. When our minds are better and we stop carrying the load of the world it allows us to focus on our growth mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially.
