About the project
One explanation given by an adult who used to play at the park as a child says it all.
" The park was constructed in 1995. As a child, I can remember always having kids to play with there. As the years went by, the equipment and the park itself was neglected and eventually all of the equipment had to be removed. Now there is nothing but a decrepit basketball court and a backstop where a baseball field used to be. It's sad to see it in such a state of disrepair."
-John Canty
A committee has been formed to work with the Town of Champlain to see just what can be done to bring the park back to life, as an area for children and families to spend time together.
The Steps
Perry’s Mills Park Committee has been formed to work with the Town of Champlain to see just what can be done to bring the park back to life, as an area for children and families to spend time together. We are graciously asking for donations from individuals and businesses, as well as, through the Town of Champlain, we are doing fund raising events to raise money to accomplish this.
Why we‘re doing it
There is no place within walking distance where children and families can congregate, get some fresh air, and exercise.
