About the project
The Pakistani Cultural Garden is proud to announce that it is ready to have its ground breaking ceremony. We have been creating a suitable design and raising the funds necessary for accomplishing our goals. Now it appears that we are ready to start with phase one of the construction process. We are very excited to take the next step on this great journey.
The Pakistani Cultural Garden is part of the larger Cleveland Cultural Gardens. The Cultural Garden seeks is to educate the public about different nationalities and cultures. We are honored to join this great institution but currently we have no educational material in our garden. We have always tried to educate the public on One World Day with stalls and booths, thus opening a small window into our lovely country . By having a ground breaking ceremony, we are letting the neighborhood and the city know that our garden will soon be open for business year round not just on one day of the year. On this occasion, we are hoping to draw local citizens into our garden to show them the great learning tools that will soon be available in our wonderful outdoor museum. We want the citizens of Cleveland to be excited about getting a glimpse into the culture of Pakistan.
The Steps
1. Rent all necessary equipment like tents, tables, chairs, linen etc...
2. Prepare marketing materials - Flyers, pamphlets, posters, displays etc...
3. Order necessary food - ethnic foods, sweets, coffee, tea etc..
4. Arrange for all paper goods
5. Apply for necessary permits
Why we‘re doing it
Our city and our neighborhood is not always socially engaged with tis diversity. We see people of other cultures amongst us but don't always know how to learn more about them. The Cultural Gardens offers an opportunity for this type of learning to occur. Many people see Pakistani people in their neighborhood or at work but may know very little about them. Coming to this event will offer an opportunity of learning about the tools that will soon be available in our garden. Engaging with the community in this manner will also give us insight as to what the public wants to learn about us. This conversation will play into breaking barriers and increased understanding of our diverse city. We really want Clevelanders to have a better understanding of Pakistani people, its art and its heritage. This insight of different people will make for a more peaceful co-existence. We want all of Cleveland to embrace the motto of the Cultural Gardens "Peace Through Mutual Understanding".
