the project

With this project, we aim to protect the beautiful trees that line the block. Our tress are under daily attack from soil compaction by pedestrians, dog waste from irresponsible dog walkers and litter. We hope our efforts will inspire more care and appreciation of the importance of trees by local residents.

the steps

-Seek estimates from several companies providing sidewalk tree guards including NYC Tree Pit Services and citytreeguards.com

-Decide on a design

-Select a vendor and contract for the installation of the tree guards

why we're doing it

The project aids the environment by protecting and preserving much needed trees in this densely populated, polluted urban setting. It will save scarce taxpayers dollars that are all too often used to needlessly replace trees that are killed by neglect and exposure to ill-care. Finally a beautiful tree lined street calms the senses, presents beauty, promotes civility and spreads joy.
