Hip-Hop History Month Interview with DJ Supe on KCRA Channel 3 in Sacramento

the project

This music production conference and training will provide attendees resources to pursue opportunities in the music production field. The curriculum will include a brief history of digital music production in the United States, music production gear evolution, producing  techniques and best practices, and utilizing social media to promote themselves.

As a Sacramento native, I have observed the need to provide enrichment for both youngsters and adults in our community. Several years ago, I started teaching classes through Sacramento Parks and Recreation. One of my first students was a young boy named Giovanni, who became professionally known as DJ Gio with nationwide notoriety. DJ Gio was the victim of a senseless and violent crime. I decided to expand my classes with a music production collaborative for entertainers in his honor.

The proposed location for the training conference is The Co-Op Spot at 317 12th St in Sacramento. Infrastructure and PA systems are the current need for the event for panel discussions, group training, and invited guest accommodations.. Attendees will have the opportunity to work in professional studios, collaborate with other creatives, and make connections with industry representatives.

the steps

  • Establish dates and times with the location proprietors to lock in availability
  • Create website www.TheMPPS.com with registration form
  • start social media campaign
  • purchase equipment for panel discussions, consoles for collaboration stations, etc.
  • communicate with possible industry brands for endorsements, equipment sponsorships, etc.

why we're doing it

As a Sacramento native, I have observed the need to provide enrichment for both youngsters and adults in our community. Several years ago, I started teaching classes through Sacramento Parks and Recreation. One of my first students was a young boy named Giovanni, who became professionally known as DJ Gio with nationwide notoriety. DJ Gio was the victim of a senseless and violent crime. I decided to expand my classes with a music production collaborative for entertainers in his honor and provide community members with a viable means of making a living as a business owner.

Hip-Hop History Month Interview with DJ Supe on KCRA Channel 3 in Sacramento

November is Hip-Hop History Month as a result of the passage of Resolution 331. This bill was co-sponsored by Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Congressman Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and passed through the Senate under Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) direction.

KCRA 3/KQCA MY58 invited our very own DJ Supe to discuss the significance of Hip-Hop in the United States. Our Music Producer Power Summit was also briefly discussed. Click the link below to see the interview on YouTube!
