Project Completion

the project

With your generous donations we will create Detroit's first Motor City Garden! We are transforming a once blighted vacant lot into a pollinator garden to attract pollinators, beautfiy our community, as well as educate others on the importance of pollinator conservation.

the steps

Our actions includes working to clean and prep vacant lot for project March 2020

Prepare Grounds and Add Motor Shell April 2020

Work with local artist to paint inspired mural on motor shell April 2020

Work with GM Cares to install soil and wildflowers Late April 2020

Soft Launch and Ribbon cutting for the community May 2020

why we're doing it

We are on a mission to inspire a new generation of leaders in sustainability, and the best way is to lead by example. Transforming vacant lots into inclusive green spaces, revitalizes neighborhoods by eliminating blight and reducing crime. The Motor City Garden will also serve as an educational hub to educate our community about native bees and plant species. It's imperative that we create outdoor learning experiences, where children can interact with nature in their own community.
