the project

In a time of COVID-19, we can respond to the needs of our community with collective power and mutual aid.

The More Hope Project aims to create a strong volunteer network that will help on mutual aid initiatives that bring hope to the Inland Empire.

Our first initiative is to distribute COVID-19 care packages to the community of San Bernardino and Riverside.

As 09/24/2020 we have had 6 successful Covid-19 care package events at the San Bernardino Spanish Church. Where we have distributed essentials such as but not limited too: masks, toothbrushes with toothpaste, body wash, water bottles, non-perishable food, toilet paper, face wipes, sunscreen, and hand sanitizer. The funds we raise will be used to purchase supplies for the Covid-19 care packages and to support future events.

The More Hope Project is a temporary project that will run until it is no longer needed. It will be completely volunteer and donation based, from the people to the people. Your support is what will keep this project alive-- so thank you for being an awesome human being!

The More Hope Project does not discriminate, we do not believe in hate, it aims to help everyone in need.

why we're doing it

The real power has always been in the people. These past months have shown us all how violent the state will go to silence us. Black and brown lives are being--and have been--attacked by state sanctioned violence, policies that murder, and expensive/ discriminatory healthcare. Human rights should be granted to everybody, yet they are not.

COVID-19 has exposed the consequences of years of systemic racism within healthcare, and local government. It has taken hold of black and brown lives at a much higher rate while also financially hindering many resilient communities. As we continue to see the number of houseless folks rise, we have a duty to protect those who are left out of basic care by the government. Riverside County and San Bernardino County have reported a total of 76,354 positive COVID-19 cases. I would like to invite you all to contribute to this project any way you can and may you find healing in helping. From the roots we will grow.
