the project

On March 13th, La Escuelita closed its doors due to Covid-19, along with so many other small businesses, and had to bid ‘adios’ to our community of little learners for the foreseeable future.  Since then we have discovered new ways to stay connected with our community and over these last few weeks our staff has been offering a multitude of virtual ‘gatherings’ for our families.  Just take a peek at some examples of content that our teachers have been sharing as depicted above.

And while we wait patiently for the world to recover, now more than ever, La Escuelita needs your support. In honor of Month of the Young Child, we want to advocate and remind our friends of the work we do for our community, even when our doors are closed. Our teachers are still singing, telling stories and sharing their Spanish-language and cultures, all at a distance.

We hope you and your loved ones around the world are staying healthy and safe and we hope to soon be sharing these joyful experiences in person once again. Until then, please consider making a tax deductible donation to our program by choosing between 1 of the 5 ways to support Month of the Young Child.

Every dollar will help support our staff and operations during this crisis, and ensure that we are able to reopen our doors after the global pandemic.

the steps

Escuelita will use your contributions to sustain operations and be ready to re-open again.  During the closure of our physical space, we will keep our staff up-to-date on professional development opportunities, continue to create content for our students and encourage families to engage in nature-based and spanish-immersion activities from home.

why we're doing it

During the Month of the Young Child, Escuelita takes time to recognize and advocate the importance of early childhood education and professionals who promote children’s strengths through nurturing relationships and creative educational programs. We celebrate the accomplishments of our community’s youngest citizens, and the benefits of a quality early education program. Our campaign will strengthen opportunities for each child’s optimal development and ensure Escuelita’s overall success throughout this time.
