The Halfway Mark!

the project

Due to the current state of our world and due to what single moms face on a daily basis, we have found it necessary to plan a Mental Health Retreat. The dates are October 8th and 9th of this year. We will arrive for breakfast on that Saturday and leave after lunch on Sunday. We will have sessions throughout the day on Saturday ending with a Game Night. We will then have a prayer breakfast on Sunday followed by some outdoor activities ending with lunch.

the steps

Once the funds have been raised, we will pay the hotel and the caterer and order the items for the gift bags (by October 1). We will then draft checks for each of the presenters (by October 7). The nanny will be paid at the completion of the event as is our usual custom (on October 9).

why we're doing it

This project serves both the social and economic issues related to the moms we serve. It serves the former by giving them an outlet for all of the issues that plague single mothers in our society and serve the latter in mental health by becoming a bridge to all areas of a sustainable life; tangible and intangible.

This amount pays for overnight lodging ($1500), catering services for 5 meals provided by a single mom ($3500), presenter stipends ($1500-6 presenters at $250 each-they are unaware that they will receive this), mental health gift bags for all attendees-moms and presenters ($1000), and childcare ($1000).
