the project
The purpose of the Mastering Motherhood Outdoor workshop is to provide moms with the tangible skills they need to efficiently run their households in a moving, hands-on, eye-level environment. Specifically, the workshop will teach fundamental meal preparation, cleaning, sewing and gardening; as well as meditation and rhythmic movement.
the steps
The first step is to reclaim our vacant lot at Perryview & Perrysville Avenue. The second step is to reach out to community centers that engage moms who might be struggling in their motherhood journey. The third step is to begin a visual campaign that builds anticipation about the Mastering Motherhood Workshop. The fourth step is to engage the mothers in the workshops.
why we're doing it
I am doing this because I believe in the power of good parenting. I think that making moms better moms is the foundation for improving communities. To make it simple, making moms better moms, makes dads better dads, children become better adults and communities, ultimately, becoem better communities.
