About the project

We are building a healthy community by growing healthy food to empower our neighbors.  We are all contributing to invest in this expansion of Manchester Growing Together Farm.

We grow all the ingredients for healthy meals to grow healthy minds and hearts with our neighbors, without toxins because we build nutritious soil to grow nutritious food for our families.  It’s freeing to be able to feed yourself, and so we engage our community to eat healthy and to be healthy.  That’s the goal of Manchester Growing Together Farm.

We host cooking classes to empower neighbors of all ages to be healthy physically, and we host education and mentoring programs to build healthy hearts and minds.  We’re in our schools and our communities, working year round on food economics for our children to be empowered to build healthy eating and healthy skills for our future.  People find us, we listen, and we build connected programming to grow healthy together.

This site expansion of Manchester Growing Together Farm is a deep investment in growing food for our neighbors and programming for our families.

We grow in 51 raised beds.  Each bed feeds a family of 6 all summer.  This will expand dramatically when we open up this new site.

We are all contributing to invest just $6,000 to build a massive expansion to the farm.

Donations to this project are doubled through the support of The Sprout Fund in collaboration with ioby, while funds are available.

The Steps

$6,000 raised to cover costs to demolish an abandoned building that is on the site of the farm's expansion.

Mistik Construction and Job Corps have already committed to donating the labor.  This $6,000 is for dumpsters, diesel fuel, and safety fencing to do the work.

When this $6,000 is raised by the community, demolition will happen, projected for October to November.

Then soil tests and other site safety steps will be done.

In 2018, the number of raised beds will increase onto this new site, to feed more Manchester and Northside families.

Why we‘re doing it

We believe that growing healthy food empowers our community, and so we all contribute to this investment in our healthy families.
