It's not sexy, but it's so important. Our tools are getting rusty and hazardous. Our brand new community garden needs a storage shed!

We are in the process of building a brand new community garden that will focus on providing educational opportunities to young people while growing organic food for the community. In order to make our space safe and accessible to children, efficient tool storage is required. We plan to build a storage shed in order to make our garden safely usable by youth.
We have a large number of volunteers ready to complete our project through the Urban Workshop program. High school students and teachers trained in construction will design a building plan, and assemble the structure. Once we have the necessary materials, we will be able to complete the project in a matter of two weeks.
Access to green spaces. Ameliorating the effects of greenhouse gasses by planting trees and other plants. Increasing availability of locally-grown organic food through community gardening, thus preventing fossil fuel emissions through food transportation. Our garden is also a community-building project that will allow neighbors to come together to connect, enhancing investment in local groups.
