About the project
After completing a civic engagement simulation, teen girls from all over Cleveland have decided that they would like to impact the community by hosting a Back to School Rally that will highlight local arts and culture. These girls have committed their summer Saturdays to the Mind, Body & Soul Summer Camp. They have learned various life skills and built meaningful relationships virtually. The girls want to combat social issues by bringing the community together to celebrate art. They would like to give away meaningful pieces of artwork as well as school supplies to help their peers prepare to be successful in the upcoming school year. The girls wanted to do something for and with their community while still practicing social distancing guidelines. The girls have all experienced social deprivation and want to do something positive.
Donating to this amazing project will help show the girls that they have the power to make a change in their community! The girls are all powered up and ready to take charge of this project, their ideas and brainstorming are coming to life! Please consider donating to this project or sharing this project with your fellow philanthropists' peers! Thank you in advance from the Mind, Body & Soul Summer Camp!

Why we‘re doing it
This project helps solve social and economic problems in our community. As the girls feel like lots of their peers would do better in school if they had the tools to succeed, they want to provide supplies and take some of the pressure off of parents and teachers to provide supplies to students. The girls also believe that art is a good coping skill and a way to express yourself. They want to be able to share their love for art and the impact that it can have on a community. They also want to learn and share more about different forms of art.
