Let's Repaint the Norwood Mural!
Help me get the funds to repaint the iconic mural I created for Norwood in 2018. With this money, I will create a participatory process to design a new mural and will paint it with the help of volunteers.

About the project
In 2018 I was lucky to paint an iconic mural in the Norwood section of the Bronx, with the help of some neighbors, Artbridge and the Council Member. It was defaced a few years after we painted it, and after months trying to get funding with no luck, I decided to raise my own money to give the wall new life.
I want to create a participatory process to engage the community so we imagine another mural that the neighborhood identify with.
The Steps
April
Start contacting the neighbors to create a group of people interested in volunteering
Get authorization from the landlord (already on board)
May

Order supplies
Clean and patch up the wall
Paint the mural
Why we‘re doing it
When I was first approached to paint this wall, the neighbors had a dreadful area where they only got ugly tags and piles of garbage. When we cleared the area and painted the space, the dynamic of the area changed, making it feel safer and keeping it clean. Now it is back to the old ways, and we want to change that.
