About the project
A.L.A.R.M. stands for Always Love And Respect Myself. This program is for young girls ages 9-19 who struggle with self-esteem issues. We designed the "LET'S PAINT ABOUT IT" art project to help support and address issues important to this group. Our goal is to provide art classes that encourage expression, build confidence and teach various stress-relieving art techniques in a fun, positive environment.
The program will provide art supplies, self-care packages (that will include hygiene & PPE items), art history lessons, and an exciting curriculum that will give these girls tools they can use for life. During these classes, girls will be free to show their feelings and unique artistic talent. The class is fit for beginners to learn or for expert artists to teach. Overall, the group is centered on inclusivity.

Why we‘re doing it
A.L.A.R.M. was created to empower, innovate, motivate, and build strength & confidence within young women. During this pandemic, many young ladies are facing considerable odds in their homes & communities. Many struggle with low self-esteem. Our goal is to positively impact the lives of these ladies when they need it most. "LET'S PAINT ABOUT IT" opens the door for hard conversations to be had and for feelings to be put on paper. This class will be the place where there are NO limits, NO stereotypes, NO impossible expectations of perfection and beauty.
